Wherever you are in this world, whatever your circumstances are, it is your personal philosophy that is most valuable. Put a shitty map in your head and you’ll drive to places you don’t want to be. Put the right map in and you can achieve things undreamed of. Your personal philosophy is everything that makes you who you are.
Sir Don McCullin’s work is so arresting that it falls into the category of “once you see it, you cannot unsee it”.
I passionately believe there are potential “Jedi [sic]” among us, metaphorically speaking. People who are naturally connected to God for inexplicable reasons, meaning it is not manifest because they practice any particular religion.
The reality of it was the brutality of hardships, uncertainty and emotional toil. It still rained on them. It still got cold outside. They still got hungry and infections and all kinds of dangers and ailments. But they kept going anyway.
So, I thought to myself, is he a genuine spiritual person? Just because he is a Scientologist does that negate his spiritual self? Is he simply misplaced in that religious order? Or worse, is he the enemy?
With shows like the brilliant West World and the new equally brilliant Raised by Wolves, both on HBO MAX here in the states, the topic of what is reality is hotter than ever, reaching mainstream homes. But in our quest to find the answers we must not allow ourselves to be so overloaded and confused with questions that we ignore some of the answers.
I always knew this moment would come; even knew the choice I would make. But I prolonged and procrastinated, trying to extend my time, like a child who never wants summer vacation to end.
There are only three things you need to know to be a true Christian and live by faith; God exists, Gods power is Love and Christ will show you The Way. Having unwavering faith based on these three beliefs forms the core of your relationship with God.
Jesus was ahead of the pack from the beginning. He foresaw it all. He warned to beware of false teachers and charismatics that charm you but bring all the attention to themselves. Jesus called out the Jews of his day precisely for that reason. Their faith was about outward appearances and not about true faith to God.
The biggest challenges for me as a Pastor are convincing non-believing people that God does exist, and then, guiding those willing to accept the journey to the right place to find God.
