Part 8: To God or Not to God

The hardest question to overcome as a Pastor is “why?”.

Why believe in God when I’m perfectly fine without thinking or believing in God at all?

To be truly honest, you don’t have to. So, go about your business without God as part of your life and be done with it. There, that’s your answer.

On the flip side, we don’t need you either. That’s where other Pastors are not honest with people. You don’t want to be here, go. The door is always open to come in AND to leave.

If God wanted our relationship with Him to be obligatory He would have designed our nature to be reliant on that relationship to survive.

So, the fundamental truth is:

  • By design, God does not require us to have a relationship with Him. Period.

Let me state it again, if you don’t want to be here, go. I’ll give it no further thought, I can promise you that.

One of the mistakes people made with religion is making it obligatory by force or coercion. I certainly don’t want to be told what to do. Neither do you.

Think of all your relationships, I’ll bet the farm that your strongest ones are the ones that you enter into and engage with by choice, not because you have to.

Think about it? Let’s talk about love. Can you force someone to love you? Can you be forced to love? Nope!!

God’s designs are flawless!!

You CAN NOT have a successful relationship if forced into it. Same goes for God.

It’s first in the ‘choosing’ that you begin to have all the necessary physical, chemical, energetic and spiritual connections happening, hence the groundwork for receiving and giving of all the properties and benefits of a relationship, like love.

That’s why we can’t fall in love with just anyone.

Now, THAT is how God designed us.

Call it free will, but that’s scapegoat language that misleads.

For today, ask yourself the simple question if you’d like to have a relationship with God or not? There is no right answer.

Only choice…

As always…
