I had a long conversation with my dearest friend last night about faith and loss and how it gets challenged when what we love gets taken away from us.

Not an easy thing to discuss.

I’m not the cookie cutter preacher who’s going to give you the same ‘ole same ‘ole. The reasons are that it doesn’t help getting closer to understanding God and His plan by use of simple easy to digest “feel good” messages that a person wants to hear to make themselves feel better.

Nor does it help to pump into someone’s noggin confusing scripture and run around hard to decipher rhetoric.

To be accepting of God’s plan one must be willing to truly understand what it is, then apply it to their personal situation.

To answer it here, let me say that God does have a plan. A long game that began at the beginning of the world he created and will out last even the existence of Earth millions of years from now.

We’re just small specs of beautiful objects flickering light only for an infinitesimal moment of time.

We all experience joy and loss in the ebb and flow of time.

Our folly is not Gods fault, but ours. He gave us consciousness, that is self awareness and thinking, along with the myriad of emotional states that goes along with it.

What He never promised was longevity or understanding.

We are left to take care of ourselves and use our minds to figure it all out.

However…

We CAN alter our personal universe by active engagement with our Creator.

That process is Faith.

As always, by faith alone.
