Where to begin?

Spirituality is akin to dieting and exercise in so many ways…

  • Good for us
  • Makes us feel good
  • Hard to maintain
  • Requires regular maintenance
  • We’re all lazy about it

It’s pretty heady stuff if you choose to go down the rabbit hole, but most of us just don’t want to work that hard at it.

The churches have known this since the beginning. They came up with innovative ways to get people to attend church and motivate them to practice regularly by enticing and also threatening. Problem is coercion just doesn’t work.

Your soul can’t do what your mind prevents or just doesn’t believe.

Think of what others have done on the extreme end. Could you be a martyr and die for Christ and God? Many people have. It was the times they lived in. Persecution had horrific consequences.

Humanity has since learned about tolerance, acceptance, diversity etc. (even if we don’t practice as hard as we should).

Many parts of the world are unfortunately stuck in backwards thinking.

For those lucky enough like ourselves we can have freedom of thought and practice. But many of us use that freedom to simply do nothing at all and what a shame that is.

Are you Jewish?
Buddhist?
Christian?

God recognizes those who seek and know him and those who are good and full of love. In the end it doesn’t really matter what you practice. In fact we can all learn something from all three, add to that the sciences and philosophy.

But here’s the catch, don’t just sit there and do nothing. Nothing begets nothing.

Where to begin?

Right where you are…

God is real. God is Great.
Get connected! Stay connected!
By faith alone! Peace…
