The Greatest

The apostles asked Jesus, “Who is the greatest amongst us?”

Jesus explains that the least are first and the first are last.

In other passages he tells that the least who have little will have even less and the first will gain even more.

Very confusing…

Simply put, the words are the same but not the same references.

Asking the question ‘who is the greatest’ is the offense. Thinking this is the offense.

Caring for rank or position is the offense.

In the latter, the rich are those connected to God, as such will gain more. The poor are the stranded and the outcasts, which have less and even that will be taken away from them.

All are welcome in Gods house, but few will be chosen.

Not because they are unworthy, but because they don’t care, either completely or by pretending to care when they really don’t.

There is no fooling God.
