How often have you seen your religious leaders outside of their institutions, making their way through their communities trying to make a difference?
Don’t assume they are.
Have you actually seen them doing it?
I’m not talking about displays of community service, like cupcake fundraisers.
I mean hardcore “listen up folks” kinda stuff!
Unfortunately, we don’t often…
There’s the image of a person with a sandwich board or fold up table on a street corner shouting about God and Christ.
We tend to avoid these people, because quite frankly, they seem a little out of it.
Perhaps they are…
But, what if they’re not?
What if they’re exactly what we need?
What if loud is the only way to get our attentions?
Being emphatic doesn’t automatically mean you’re a nut job.
In our quest for the right appearances we’ve lost the courage to be “visible and naked” with our beliefs.
Crazy is not being visible (maybe invisible), but rather how you act whence visible, meaning in public.
True, shouting in the streets is not advisable!
But openly loving God is!
Show others your faith and relationship to God by living it openly in a manner that’s comfortable to you.
A little shy, or even vastly private, is fine as well.
One way or the other is not the point.
The point is to be sincere and unafraid of what your position is.
As for the pros, like myself, whose lives are dedicated to spreading the Word of God, well, I think it’s time we bought tables and sat on street corners more often than we do (and perhaps get a little louder).
Peace to all, y’all.
