Let us be eternally and completely reverent to the Jewish people, first and foremost, as we worship the same one and only true God.
Growing up on Long Island, going to NYU, running a genetics lab at Columbia University for over a decade, I had the great fortune of having many cultures around me, sharing in their lives and customs.
It’s normal life to be mixed and matched in the great stew that is New York. It’s like no other place.
As a Pastor since 2017, I’ve pursued ever deeper levels of understanding in order to get the fullest picture of the events that led from the discovery of God by the Jews to the present day.
If you “skip past” that understanding, like far too many Christian’s do, you deny truth that is irrefutably the foundation of all Christianity and our culture.
As Christians, we have what we have because Jesus was a devout Jew in heritage, blood and faith, chosen and entrusted by God precisely because he was a Jew.
God could have placed his son anywhere on Earth and in any era in space/time, but He chose then.
The Apostles and Church Fathers were mostly Jews with few exceptions.
That is history, period.
But what is infinitely more important is the knowledge of God given to them directly, that was faithfully recorded and passed down through generations.
Except for heritage and blood, for that is their sole right, we share the same connection to the same God.
This cannot be argued by anyone.
As I continue to discover the richness that is the Jewish people, their faith and history, from the beginning of recorded history to the present day, I am more in awe with each step.
For all their horrific persecutions across thousands of years, with zero merit in any era or place, then or now, they have remained unflinchingly faithful to God and to humanity, despite the evils that plaque mankind.
We must all say thank you with the deepest honor for their grace and in return give the same.
Peace to all…
