Being a person of God and Christ doesn’t make everything suddenly evil, like material possessions, sex, etc.
Philosophers and theologians have tackled this conundrum for centuries with mixed conclusions.
“Money is the root of all evil” is the saying.
Even people with money, who value it as the number one priority, will say such things.
There are other so called evils that religion exposes and points a finger at, like sex.
I could expound on this to fill a whole book.
Getting to the point, many people avoid Christianity because Christian’s make it their point to tell us how shitty we are, living evil lives, and that Christ will fix all that.
I am a 24/7/365 Christian who devoted his life to the study and understanding of God and Christ.
Let me state clearly that we are not sinners, per se.
We are humans that (for the most part) strive to enrich and improve ourselves and the world around us, making mistakes and corrections along the way, and for the most part, do a pretty good job at it.
Christianity is a guiding way of life that is an aid to that endeavor.
It is misunderstood, by its own fault, as a morality tale about humans gone bad.
This I do not subscribe to and perhaps that is where we split.
