Jesus the man died and at the moment His body gave in to the torture His soul left that body.
“Father, why have you forsaken me?”. And then he said, “it is done” and exhaled for the last time.
For me, it’s the most powerful moment that hits me the hardest.
“It is done.”
With all the words and miraculous events, one would think that it was “happening” all along and it would simply end like it did for previous prophets with His eventual death from long life.
But its full worth could not be had if He didn’t get to that point, “it is done”.
In order for Jesus to move to the next phase of God’s plan he had to first complete part one, His ministry and subsequent death, and in the exact order it happened without a mistep or alteration.
Jesus left this world and went home; He did tell us in His foretelling that He would go home and prepare a room for us.
Turns out it wasn’t done.
It was a whole new beginning.
He did the most miraculous part of all this…
He returned…
He didn’t abandon us on Earth, merely to wait for us in heaven.
That is the miracle of Easter.
It was already miraculous when He was here; Certainly a movement could have begun with that alone that would’ve led people from being lost back to God.
God’s plan was bigger than that.
Jesus said he’d destroy the temple and raise it up in three days; which is interpreted as His resurrection, destroy the temporal for the spiritual.
His plan was not to destroy Jewish law or things sacred to its people.
His plan was to show us definitively what is our right before God!
To look beyond our temporal lives and join God directly, hand in hand, heart to heart, spirit to spirit.
The story is not about Jesus or His apostles.
The story has always been about one thing…
God and us!
God and you!
Jesus is merely the Jewish preacher from Nazareth sent to convey the message.
Which it turns out was God delivering it Himself.
Easter is the celebration about God and you being one.
Peace to all…
