There are many commercials now for Christianity, more than has ever been, certainly in my lifetime.

This is a ponderous thing.

As we rediscover Jesus and The Way and church, and modernize and capitalize Christianity, let us consider most importantly the reasons that matter most.

Everyone has a personal quest for seeking God and Christ.

Some people are in trouble and need God.

Others find the calling of the Spirit leading to God.

Others have curiosity, plain and simple.

All of these reasons, and countless more, are well and good ones to pursue God.

However, picking up a Bible, saying a passing prayer now and then that an app showed you, and attending church are NOT the reasons, and this is where most people fail in their journey to God.

All of it is meaningless if you are not TRULY seeking God.

Don’t get caught up in charismatic preachers and fancy churches with art that blows your mind or trendy celebrity sponsored apps and tech.

In the end, they serve only one purpose, and that is, to get you to God.

We are not better or worse for them, but we are in grave danger of the Golden Calf that Moses warned us about.

He warned not to worship anything other than God.

In the beginning there was only God and none of the hoopla, other than straight up worship, direct and sincere.

Apps don’t get you to God.

You get you to God.

Be encouraged by all those elements assisting you, like church, a Pastor, maybe even a prayer app, but don’t worship them, worship God.

At some point you must, and will, do it on your own.
