Humans are a funny fickle species.
We want a different version of what we already have because we’re so easily bored and fickle.
The Bible in its current form of content, more or less, has roughly been around since the fourth century.
Obviously, printing would be many century’s later, so being available as a book has not been as long as the contents itself.
It’s all in there.
Everything a person needs to gain history and insight into God, His people and eventually Jesus and His wisdom.
And yet, as I stated, because humans are so needy for the new, we won’t just go out and buy a Bible and read it.
Instead, we want apps and tech that will make the process more interesting or fun or trendy or stealthy; because we wouldn’t want anyone knowing we’re reading the Bible, would we?
Then we we’d be in danger of being labeled by all the negative connotations of being a Christian.
We’re cool if we seek “spirituality”, we’re a freak if we read the Bible.
(Some things never change.)
And this is true across the entirety of Christendom; we need new churches with new art, younger and better looking Pastors, and so on.
If you want to know about God and Christ, just buy the original book and read the damn thing!
It’s even available for download through app stores and ebooks, sometimes for free.
Apps are cool, but like food, why keep searching for and switching between restaurants when the most nourishing and best tasting food you’re seeking is right in front of you and readily available in abundance.
Go to the OG, skip the trends.
