Reading the Bible…

Why can’t we just go to church, get a dose of Jesus in a social environment, eat some cupcakes, then go to a family brunch or play a round of golf, and so on, without having to labor, slog really, through a giant book full of confusing language?

It’s so much easier to let someone else do the heavy lifting.

However, paraphrasing what President Kennedy said, we don’t do certain things because they’re easy, but because they’re hard.

We don’t hike because it’s easy, but because the reward is adventure, exercise and sceneries, otherwise we’d all be mall walkers like our G-Pops and G-Mamas.

We must read the Bible because it’s “the source”; Hence, once read, is mainlined into our consciousness with no middleman.

Put the info straight into your beautiful brain and let it germinate over time.

Don’t start from the beginning with Genesis, unless you’re a hardcore kinda person, because it’s al lot to take in.

Read the New Testament first, front to back. Then read it again, over and over, until it’s absorbed.

Each reading will bring new insights and compile the wisdom and mysteries therein.

Don’t rush. There is no deadline and no prizes for how fast you can read it, just do it.

You’ll be rewarded for your efforts as the journey continues, which is for a lifetime.

Don’t get caught up in appearances, outside comments, how it may change how others think of you or you about yourself.

Just be yourself, as you’ve always been.

Think of it like taking an extra class on a new subject of interest.

Share it or keep it to yourself, whatever you like.

“Just do it!”
