This typically has negative connotations, like “don’t be a shit stirrer”; The person who makes trouble for no reason other than it gets them off.

The flip side of the coin is the person who stirs the spirit, ignites passion, or inflames the intellect.

Should we all be so lucky to have someone do this to us.

I know I’ve been lucky to have it happen all my life from many places.
