Understanding God

Understanding God and the mysteries that surround His existence, including all the figures and events in the Bible, from Abraham to Jesus, including our growing understand of how the Universe works, in particular Earth, and even more specifically Humans and consciousness, is nearing the impossible.

So, why bother?

We can simply go about our lives with each of our own particulars and die one day.

God gives us that option.

On the other end, there’s the deep dive into the bottomless pool of mystery and knowledge.

‘Leaps of faith’ are erroneously defined as intentionally being hard so we can have the benefits of the ‘not so easy to grasp’ process of reaching true faith.

There is some truth to that, but not how you’d think.

Is the study of physics ‘intentionally hard’ so you have to labor to get to the solved equations?

If it was too easy everyone would be doing it and hence not a big deal?

Nonsense…

It’s hard, because it’s hard.

It’s advanced knowledge.

Same with faith…

There’s basic faith and there’s advanced faith.

Some people ‘get God’ and some don’t or are incapable, period.

Institutions of faith are learning centers, and just like a local college or Oxford, there are differing levels for differing abilities and desires.

There’s no one way to do any of this.

I always encourage people to go as far as they can go on the journey to faith and understanding.

Think how far you want to go with your spiritual education, i.e. dip a toe, lay person, PhD or full gnosis?

It must be clearly stated that dipping a toe is nearly worthless, and yet on the other far end, gnosis is not necessary either (and probably not attainable).

Here’s why…

There is only one end goal, and that is connection to God.

But not merely ‘getting it’…

The goal is ‘actual connection to God’, and it must be genuine with genuine intent of purpose.

You may not gain gnosis, or even advanced levels of understanding, but you’ll have the most important part.

That’s all God asks of us.

Peace.
