Faith, fear and doubt.

They wrestle eternally for dominion over man.

Each of us has all three by default as a human. We’re preprogrammed.

The forces of the universe use these three to guide us, both good and evil.

Yes, the forces of love are also in there, but since we’re focused on faith as the subject, I’ll leave love for it’s time down the road.

As faithful as we may be to God, we cannot help being pushed and shoved by the other two.

It takes real genuine strength to fight against these forces.

I speak in general terms, but take these words and apply them to your specific life and situation.

Are you ill?

Then fight for control. Stay in faith. Real faith that says “no” to fear and doubt.

Are you wonderful and happy?

Say “yes” to your faith and give thanks to God!

This takes focus and practice and remembrance.

I would say that this is the hardest part to master, next to loving all.

The twins of fear and doubt are powerful forces. Crafty in their deeds and words. They whisper and shout. They act and do nothing. Anything they can to patiently get what they want.

In “The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians” 6:16, Paul writes:

“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;”

Beautiful words, as always, but faith is not a shield in actuality. I always want everyone to turn poetry into reality.

What Paul means is your faith is “like a shield” against all evil, including the twins of fear and doubt.

Besides love, faith is your most powerful state of being.

As always, by faith alone.
