I have to admit that when I was growing up, like so many others of that era, I made fun of the weird “Jesus Freaks” that spoke of Jesus in every conversation at every opportunity always.
These people looked and acted differently, like a sci-fi movie where they’re controlled by something.
Simply put, they didn’t look normal!
And they still don’t because they’re programmed.
Being programmed is different from genuine free thinking knowledge where one comes to accept concepts because they makes sense, even when talking about God.
Which is precisely why they looked so fucking weird.
The info coming from them was mechanical and insincere. There was an eerie imploring and fear in their eyes that seemed unnervingly unnatural.
I always look for distilled truth so my brain can latch on to it for real.
I’m ever careful of being coerced by emotional and psychological methods that trick the brain.
Being raised Catholic I love the beauty of rituals and joy of spectacle. But it’s sad to say that in the end it’s just theatre, and when the show’s over we go home with feel good memories only.
Some of the luster and joy lingers, but it eventually dissipates as we go about our daily lives.
What am I getting at?
- Seek the genuine
- Become genuine
- Be real and not a fake clone
- Be bold in your beliefs, especially when it comes to God and Christ
- Don’t be a freak about it
- Be the normal you
- Make God and Christ a part of normal conversation
People will react and interact to your genuineness and not be repelled by your “Jesusness”.
Jesus in his day was just a dude amongst the people.
God intentionally made it that way so He could be a part of the regular people, not religion by being “God in the sky.”
Jesus was simply Jesus, not a freak.
Peace…
