The Pope is the hero of the day, finally, meaning instead of being in the margins, speaking in Latin to believers, he’s speaking in plain language to the world.

And he said it clear as day, AI is the threat, for real, the definitive existential Anti-Christ. When you hear it, it makes perfect sense. Humans are the pawns. The Enemy will not control an individual, but a system that controls all individuals, with some as believers in IT and others that know that God does not approve, only He is in charge. As he stated, don’t discard technology, but we’d better heed the warning of its dire potential before it’s too late. 

The Enemy learned long ago that the red suit worked against his endeavors. Jesus warned that ‘they’ will come in his likeness or some version in a ‘good guy suit’. It’s all unfolding so subtly that the real threats are buried under a radar that cannot read its presence. This isn’t aluminum foil hat bat shit crazy talk. It’s genuinely troublesome.

We’re all waiting for the ‘big event’ to make it oblivious, ignoring the creeping one that’s sneaking into our lives, ever slowly, little by little, like spies in the movies; the next door neighbors you didn’t know were an agent cell, planted decades earlier. We are all ‘the spies’ being pitted against each other vying for resources and savoring the spoon fed tech we actually never needed. Humans lived and died, as designed for a long time.

The values of the fifties were not so bad, fall in love, make a family, work hard and live a happy life. Of course it needed tweaking from that era, but the core values are fundamentals. I’m a whiskey drinking, cigar smoking biker who listens to loud alt rock and swears like a drunken soldier, and I fucking like it that way, but I see the joy and logic of life lived simply with love and joy as your daily bread; add God into the mix and you’re all set!

My generation is literally (I can’t believe I’m even saying this) the last to touch the old world; kids playing and drinking from the garden hose kinda stuff. When we were kids animals and plant life was still in abundance. Bugs were everywhere to our annoyance. All the storybook critters and wild life existed not in movies, but actually around us, some harmless, some threats, but they existed. Now we enjoy a bug-less life, and driveways without bird shit, no more snakes in our gardens or overturned garbage cans in our yards; sanitized lives whose cost can never be made up. It took millions of years to get it right and we fucked it up in decades. Nothing new, but no matter how many times it’s bull horned into the streets we keep responding, ‘yeah, yeah, whatever’.

Being a professional photographer, I manipulate what’s called ‘depth of field’. High DOF is when a lot is in focus, from the foreground to infinity. Shallow DOF is when there’s a small patch in focus with soft focus in front and behind, which is very pleasing to the eye. We’re living with a shallow DOF mindset. That tiny area in focus is our immediate ‘now concerns’, like hot coffee or a parking spot. Large DOF is seeing the big picture, that we get to drink coffee and are lucky to own a car at all. Perhaps a silly analogy, but it’s not that far off.

The Enemy is playing a long game to win over time, generationally, so as people die we can’t put together the pieces of a plan that will eventually imprison our grandchildren or great grandchildren, not us today.

Let it officially be stated that the Pope has spoken, May 2026. His plea is more than as a spiritual leader. His words are for all humanity. At some point it will be too late. Don’t let the media convince you it’s only in the books, movies and TV, just as they’ve done with God, ideas not reality.

Closing your eyes, does not make the sun disappear; pitching your nose, does not mean the stench of human recklessness is a myth. I don’t need a tin foil hat. Guilty as charged.
