I often cringe with certain religious terminology. Words like “worship” make me halt. Am I reluctant because I don’t believe in God? Or am I reluctant because the words implications are not quite right? I think it’s the latter.

“Connection to God” is the best way for me to articulate what not only is possible, but what must be the end result.

However possible, it’s not probable. 

Thinking of God is what most people of faith do, meaning 99%. Nearly all people think but don’t actually believe. People have confused belief with desire and hope. It’s only natural. Language is our method of sorting concepts into understandable and workable action, mentally and physically.

Think right, act right.

Think shitty, get shitty.

So damn simple…

Jesus was a remarkable human. He figured out, like a spiritual Einstein, what it’s all about. His own connection to God got him abilities beyond what was thought possible.

He figured it out then ran all the way home with it.

He even stated that he could in fact ask his Father, God Himself, to avert the horrendous outcome. What doesn’t get focused on is that Jesus “chose” to continue in that direction. Chances are God, because anything is possible, would have come up with a different plan. 

But the other part to the events is that Jesus also figured out that aversion would weaken his bond with God. It would mean that he didn’t trust God under those circumstances. If he “backed out of the plan”, he’d be “backing out of his trust.” Tough choice. 

When it’s stated that Jesus “had no choice,” he certainly did, but not if he wanted to achieve all endeavors at once:

• 100% connection to God
• 100% trust in God
• 100% love for humanity 
• 100% unbreakable will

The list goes on. It was the goal of 100% that Jesus chose to achieve. Anything else would be a failure as a whole. It was all or nothing.

He figured it out…

Did he have the courage to pull it off?

Obviously, he did.

Language is an organic entity. Slippery and solid at the same time. Ephemeral, yet concrete. That’s why scientists love the language of science. It’s irrefutable. 

Math is math across the universe. Our math is Gods math. Gods math is our math. (Problem is you can’t spin an exciting yarn with it.)

Ditch the word “worship,” substitute it with “connect,” and go all in.

Nothing fancy, just…connect.
